TECHNICAL
Nature leaves its mark everywhere!
I imprison plants, animal fibres and, after long preparation in my pot of witches, I leave time to reveal its secrets.
My experience allowed me to deepen this technique and to experiment other ways with the earth, the smoke, the lichens etc ... always around my passion: textiles.
The colours are expressed by the plants themselves.
To get the darker dyes, I select plants that are richer in tannin, as well as some lichens or natural dyes to create backgrounds.
The imprints are made in different ways: by pressing (with or without cooking), or hammering or macerating or burying.
In addition, I offer courses and introductory courses in my workshop "Sabbat" around textile techniques: flat felt, nuno, volume, shibori, indigo dyeing, spinning, carding, weaving ...
PRESENTATION
Testimony of a witch
I run and weave on the fabric of my days: vegetable and animal fibres to mark the contours of my dreams.
The leaves that I glean at the detours of my secret paths will imprint my favourite fabrics - silk, cotton, linen - leaving the trace of a life printed forever.
The sun, boiling in water harvested from the rain, springs or rivers or the sea will transform my impressions.
I start from a schema built in my imagination but the magic of the meeting between the elements and my emotions will lead to an enigma that I analyse with impatience.
Finally, I discover with wonder, between shadow and light, what nature reveals to me: transparency, reflections, reliefs, entanglements, overlays, dissociations, fusions as an echo to my questions.
I feel like a witch in the middle of my huge cooking pots - gloup, gloup - whose steam invades my entire visual field to better escape from reality.
All my impressions on fabric are marked by a motif. In the centre, we notice a vertical or horizontal line that delimits two opposites which can sometimes meet in a harmony of colours or impression to better unite.
The spell is cast!
Contact Details:
A German national, Jutta has become a Lodévoise over the years. A painter and also engraver. She works in Herault and Hanover in Germany and participates in many exhibitions around the world.
Ole, her son, a management graduate, lives and works in Hanover. He has been passionate about photography for 10 years.
Mother and son are currently working together on this art project: Jutta makes engravings and Ole offers original impressions of the beautiful region of Herault with his camera.
Both have met to create compositions made of "impressed superimpositions" of their works, a sort of fading, strange and poetic marriages, associating the two arts they practise: engraving and photography.
