The title of this exhibition is "So be it!"
Faith has spent a lifetime studying, practicing and teaching drawing and painting. She was fortunate enough to become a close friend of the great English painter Sir Stanley Spencer who shared his wisdom and knowledge with her before she spent three years as a post-graduate at the prestigious Royal Academy Schools in London.
She has always been influenced by her environment, interacting with it directly as in landscapes and portraits, or extracting from it to search out its essential reality. Her abstract works are therefore never simply concerned with shape and colour, but also with the experiences that invade our senses. What we see, hear, smell and feel is only the minutest portion of the signals that fill the air around us.
Faith’s latest paintings are about the sounds and pictures which are constantly moving through the air, the unceasing motion of our material and immaterial world, the dynamism of existence. Her work is never static, just as life is never static.
