Marie Bariseel

Marie Bariseel

Collective of four painters from Aude

Marie Bariseel, Viviane Martinolle, Serge Sarrat, Alban Pédrola

Our paintings reflect the lyrical abstract art initiated by Wassily Kandinsky, the new Paris school (1945-65) illustrated by Gérard Schneider, Za_ Wou-Ki's sensibility and Antonio Tàpies' art. We also refer to the works of Yahne le Toumelin, Chu Teh Chun, or closer to us, Wang Yan Cheng and Fabienne Verdier.

We propose abstract painting full of interiority and reflection combining the reality of man, his behaviour and his attitudes to nature and fellow men.

With introspection, questioning and intentionality, where action is an integral part of the subject, our painting leaves the viewer free to construct his own history by travelling on the proposed paths.

We respect each other's integrity, expressing such themes as ”summer storm, the ascent, after the wreck, continuity and rupture, freedom of choice…”. Thus, we are offering a large wide range of topics and approaches.

We work with acrylic paint on mostly large canvas.

Gold medallist in an international competition in Sorèze in 2014.
