Artist
Living in Lunas (34650) where my studio is located at 38 Grand rue, I have been painting for more than 50 years since the age of 18. That's why I called the exhibition "Rétrospective", so that you can discover my journey and all the subjects that caught my attention and touched my sensitivity.
I completed my studies at the Beaux Arts de Beaune (21) and later at the Charpentier workshop in Paris and at the National School of Decorative Arts in Paris.
Since then I have not stopped drawing and painting. My work is very diverse, both technically (watercolour, oil, Indian ink) and thematically (trees, animals, nudes, portraits, old stones).
Why nudes and cats? I find connivance between the woman and the cat concerning the elegance of their bodies and the harmony and grace of their attitudes.
For the watercolours of animals, I attach great importance to their expressive gaze, to the brightness of their pupils where the spark of life shines through. In the oil paintings of nudes, I like playing with shadows and lights that emphasize the harmony of a curve or reflect an emotion. As for my drawings in ink, they reflect my love of the old stones of the medieval villages of our valleys.
